Green Thumb and Racial Equity
Like many organizations the world over, Green Thumb is examining how it can disrupt white supremacist systems of oppression, and has engaged Cambium Arts & Education to work with us on a plan to move forward racial equity within our organization. This includes training with both Green Thumb's staff and Board of Directors.
As a company with strong social justice values, we feel this is an important step to take to make sure that the way we work reflects the ideals of the work we produce. We have previously worked with Cambium's Director and Founder, Amal Rana, on a project basis and look forward to investigating and challenging our work on an organizational level.
This work will be informed by a survey on racial equity that will soon be circulated to past Green Thumb artists, staff, and contractors where they may anonymously share any experiences or thoughts they feel Green Thumb should know about as we move forward with organizational racial equity work.
The survey will be released next week and will be posted on our website and social media in addition to being sent to the email list we have compiled. All survey results are confidential and will go directly to Amal Rana. Amal will share a summary report of findings with Green Thumb leadership.
While we are sending the survey directly to people we have worked with in various capacities in the past, it is open to the public. We encourage you to complete this anonymous survey and voice your experiences.
As we move forward with the training, we will be sharing priorities, goals and actions with the community as they arise.
