GREEN THUMB THEATRE IS SEEKING ACCOMMODATIONS FOR ACTORS

Deadline to submit:
April 20, 2025

Green Thumb Theatre creates and produces plays that explore social issues relevant to the lives of children, youth, and young adults. We provide theatre that celebrates the language and stories of today’s generation and culture to stimulate empathy, debate, and critical thinking.

We’re searching for short-term, reasonably priced accommodation for out-of-town actors. Do you have an extra bedroom, basement suite, or apartment available? We’d love to hear from you!

Accommodation providers are responsible for providing clean, private, and safe housing for actors to sleep, rest, and store their personal belongings for their stay. They must have access to Wi-Fi/internet, full washroom facilities, and shared or private kitchen facilities. Access to laundry and other facilities is appreciated but not required.

As most out-of-town actors do not have access to a vehicle, accommodation close to Green Thumb Theatre (5522 McKinnon Street, Vancouver) or a reasonable public transportation route (by bus and/or SkyTrain) is necessary.

We encourage a(negotiable) rental rate of $200 - $240 per week as remuneration for hosting.

Our season follows the BC school year with our season typically spanning September to May each year. For the 2024-25 season, we are looking for the following dates to house actors:

All dates are subject to change. It is not a requirement to have a space available for all windows of time.

·        Monday, September 16, 2024, to Monday, October 14, 2024

·        Thursday, October 24, 2024, to Thursday, October 31, 2024

·        Monday, February 10, 2025, to Tuesday, March 11, 2025

·        Monday, April 7, 2025, to Sunday, April 13, 2025

·        (Tentative)Monday, April 14, 2025, to Sunday, April 20, 2025
